Sea of Thieves Season 17: Smuggler's League Now Live

Sea of Thieves Season 17 has officially begun, introducing a new faction called the Smugglers' League. Players are tasked with locating Smugglers' Hideouts to initiate dealings with the League, which is interested in treasures such as fine art, fine rum, and particularly explosive Black Powder Barrels.

Players can undertake Smugglers' Route Runs, which involve transporting often-dangerous cargo from one location to another. These runs can also be initiated via messages in bottles marked by the Smugglers' League.

Additionally, players have the opportunity to recover lost cargo from Smugglers' Shipwrecks, including items found on the sea floor, on beaches, or from Skeleton Ships, which can then be returned to the League for rewards.

This is Act 1 of the season, with further content, including heists, scheduled to be released as Act 2 and Act 3 in September and October.

The season also features new cosmetics available through the Pirate Emporium and the Plunder Pass. A new Pirate Profiles system allows players to play with extra characters without losing their current progress.
